In an effort to build a new and competitive team erstwhile savior Lou has begun the shaping up of the Islanders. For those of you unfamiliar with his measures, some NHL players find them draconian or Soviet-like.
He demands that the players are clean-shaven and good standing members of society. One under his tutelage should expect to be held under a microscope, produce results, and to not embarrass him or the team at any costs.
In a word, Old School.
It was recently announced that the Islanders players without tenure on the team are likely to be playing with a different number. (Sorry all of you that bought a jersey with a name and number on it, you might want to visit the tailor.)
So, in a report from ESNY it was mentioned that Arthur Staple of the Athletic noticed a few new numbers on helmets during the informal skates this week.
Also spotted a couple new numbers on helmets. Adam Pelech now wears No. 3, Scott Mayfield has No. 24 and Jan Kovar has No. 10.

So, Isles fans in short, be ready for a team that has been whipped into shape by Lams and Trotz. Accountability is high as the team begins playing for the badge on the front of the sweater, not the name on the back.
I hope that for our sake the Isles rebuild is better than the Rangers rebuild!
