So it’s Friday night and I am home not doing a god damn thing. This week I got a little taste of hockey season so naturally I jumped on the YouTube and started watching cool hockey videos. I’m wheeling along and I stumble upon this video of Alexander Mogilny leaving the Soviet Union and becoming the player that pretty much broke the gates from Russia to here. If you aren’t doing anything right this second, you should watch this video.
Final Thoughts? Gerry Meehan has a SET on him. Meehan takes Mogilny in the 5th round, HOPS ON A PLANE TO THE SOVIET GOD DAMN UNION, becomes James Bond for a few days and leaves the country with it’s prized possession. Absolutely crazy story. Can you imagine if he hadn’t? How much longer would it have been until somebody had? Sergei Federov didn’t convince me that he would’ve been the first to do it. Russia is so damn fascinating. I can’t imagine living that life, I’m good here in the ol’ U S of A.

Oh, by the way, not bad for a 5th round pick.
