This could be one of the most controversial questions in all of beer league hockey. I feel like we are going to get responses on all ends of the spectrum here. To be honest I think it depends on the situation at hand and how hard one would celebrate.
Yes, Celly Away
I’m an adult now and don’t get much time to celebrate pretty much anything. I go to work, pay my bills, get to bed by 10pm and do it over and over again every single day until I’m 65 years old. So what if I get a little excited potting a goal at 9:30pm on a Wednesday night? This is the closest I will get to the NHL and I’m going to play it this way because I love hockey and I love scoring.

No, No, No
Every time I’m on the bench or the ice and I see someone celebrate after a beer league goal I automatically think that person is an L squared weenie. This isn’t the NHL, it is some throw away game in Rochester and I shouldn’t be subjected to seeing you act like you just won game 7 in the Stanley Cup Finals. Act like you’ve scored before, HARDOOO.

Both takes I can agree with. I don’t normally celebrate after a beer league goal because of the ridicule that comes with it but if it is a playoff game and its a big goal I’ve been known to jump on a pile. I’ve also been known to do it to piss off the other team. If you can’t handle me at my worst, you don’t deserve me at my best.
What do you guys think? Let us know!
I not only relish beer league goals, I celebrate pick-up hockey goals like its a Game 7. I also lobby the beer league “officials” for secondary assists whenever I’m on the ice during a Goal For
