Thursday May, 28th the Vegas Golden Knights revealed the team name and logo for their new minor league franchise. The Henderson Silver Knights will join the AHL next year for the new club’s inaugural 2021-2022 season. The anticipation was built up by Vegas Golden Knights Chairman and CEO Bill Foley who put on quite the show during the broadcast. There was a one-hour live show on KSNV NBC Las Vegas as well as social media where you can watch if you missed #RevealKnight.
Below is a breakdown of the logo:
Henderson is only 16 miles from Las Vegas. This is a big deal for players, coaches, and management because instead of traveling across the country to Chicago (previous AHL club) you’ve got a twenty minute drive down state. Henderson is a little more ‘family friendly’ compared to Las Vegas and will feature an atmosphere geared towards kids and families at Silver Knights games. The American Hockey League version of The Fortress is coming to Henderson including a brand new state-of-the-art, 6,000-seat arena.
Welcome to the hockey world Henderson Hound Dogs….I mean Silver Knights. Tell us what you think about the new team name and logo!
