What a video. I’ve been on a serious documentary grind lately and started to dabble with Turning Point: 9/11 and the War on Terror. It’s crazy to me that it’s been 20 years. I remember it like it was yesterday, being a kid and wondering what was going on. Being so naive that there was no way in hell someone would purposefully try and hurt so many people. So many brave men and women lost their lives that day. So many people with families, who were expecting them home for dinner that night, never got the chance to say I love you one more time. I’ll never forget it, ever.
Here’s a video I watch every single 9/11. You might shed a tear but it’s important to remember the people who lost their lives and what they brought into this world. Welles is someone I strive to be like every day.
Tonight the FDNY and NYPD will go to battle for bragging rights like they do every year (minus COVID). I remember watching the show Rescue Me with Dennis Leary and the hockey scenes they had in that show thinking how awesome it would be to be on one of those teams.
There’s clearly respect between the two but also the pride of belonging to your own group. This was just from a couple years ago.
I know what I’ll be doing tonight.
