The Blues season has been off to an interesting start. Currently sitting at third in the central with 35 points through 28 games. There has been bright spots like Robert Thomas sitting at 20 assists in 24 games. The lows are definitely injuries and losing players to COVID protocol. The AHL call ups are all making the most of it and have looked good during their time in the big leagues.

December has been good to the Blues as they have earned points in five of the last six games. Killing twelve straight penalties in the last five games. Nathan Walker had a hat trick in the 6-2 win over the Red Wings. Dakota Joshua scored and Logan Brown had two assists in the win over Montreal. Shout out Jake Allen and great video tribute in his return to St. Louis.

Speaking of goalies the Blues are the only NHL team this season with wins from four different goalies. Jordan Binnington should be back from COVID protocol this week. Ville Husso has been fantastic until a lower body injury landed him on IR. Charlie Lindgren and Jon Gillies have done well when called upon. This is why it is so important to have reliable goalies in the system.

Things were looking good last night in overtime until Scott Perunovich hooked Troy Terry on a breakaway. This lead to a penalty shot and of course Terry smokes Gillies on the backhand which ends the game. Troy Terry has been absolutely phenomenal this season with 28 points through 29 games and a big reason for the Ducks early success.

The Blues head down to Dallas to face the Stars tomorrow for the next game. Look out Fink the boys in blue are hot. Expect another beat down on Friday. Let’s Go Blues!
