The boys have been a tiny slump as of late losing 5 of their last 6 and their only win coming against the Islanders.
The Caps lost again last night against Vancouver with a score of 2-4.
This loss came with a combo of stupid penalties and the inability to kill said penalties.
Right after puck drop the Caps seemed to have zero sense of urgency with a kind of going through the motions attitude.
This game could have looked a lot worse if it weren’t for the trusty Capitals powerplay which got the boys their two goals. Ovechkin scored for the 26th time on the season on the pp from where else the top left circle (The Ovi zone). Ovi is now tied for most goals and the league lead in points with Edmonton’s Leon Draisaitl. Really need Ovi to score the most goals this season have a nice bet riding on that!
Samsonov got the start and let in 3 goals on 31 shots. He didn’t look terrible just one of those nights where the Caps D didn’t show up for him, but Vanecek has obviosuly played better between the pipes as of late compared to Sammy.
The other pp goal was scored by Tom Wilson on a nice feed from Backy and Kuzy but it wasn’t enough in the end.
The Caps are back in action on Tuesday when the Winnipeg Jets come to D.C., we will see if this game even happens with how much of shitshow its been with our friends up north especially since the last Canadian opponent we were suppose to play got postponed. If the game does happen lets hope the boys come out with a little more fire under their arse at puck drop!
