With hockey season quickly approaching and there not being too much news out there, I found out today that Darryl Sutter might be my new favorite personality in the world of hockey.
Darryl Sutter is the king of blue collar. When he’s not behind the bench or postgame taking questions by the pip squeaks of media, Sutter is on the family ranch that he promised his old man would remain with in family for generations to come. And while one might think a ranch would be a couple hundred acres, the Sutter ranch is comprised of 3 thousand of those bad boys.
Need a house built? He can do that.
Throughout the video you can tell the pride Sutter takes in being his fathers son, the hard work that was instilled with his family and the joy he takes in the simpler things of life. I thought it was pretty telling when he mentioned that he’d like to educate people on where food really comes from. A simple hard working guy, a cowboy and a hockey player – That’s pretty fucking cool.
