Happy New Year! Last night, I was watching hockey because that’s the best thing to do on the last day of the year. During the second period of the Canadians Lightning game the Habs took a 2-0 lead on a controversial play. What appeared to be a stoppage in play had fooled everybody but there was no whistle.
One of the oldest rules in any sport is ‘play until you hear the whistle’. Shout out to Sam Montembeult and Johnathan Kovacevic for pulling off the old hidden ball trick. Could we see this in the future as a trick tactic or was this just unlucky timing and an odd goal? The Lighting would score four goals after that and win the game. That two goal lead is always the most dangerous lead in hockey. The NHL leader in points scored a beautiful goal on the back door to close out the year.
