Let’s rewind to November 2nd, two months ago to the date. Adam Fox made a cut to the net and Sebastian Aho did absolutely nothing to try and get his leg out of the way, thus injuring the Rangers star defenseman and putting Fox in the press box until November 29. Aho was challenged a couple times after this play but like the baby back rodent he is, he turned down each and every fight and had his teammates try and get in the way. Aho is a star player on the Canes but as Trouba said, if he has to fight every time he makes a physical play, why shouldn’t Aho?
I’ve had this game circled on my schedule ever since this happened. Will there be a response? I’ve seen some people say the Rangers forgot about this, I’ve seen others say the Rangers need to do something about it. It’s probably not hard to guess what side I’m on in this argument. If you put yourself in a position to injure a star player then you better be ready to answer the bell. Now we wait until 7pm EST to see if the Rangers feel the same way. As Rupper says, the case remains open.
