Earlier today the news broke that Arizona Coyote Adam Ruzicka was to be released by the Coyotes following a video (snapshot above) that surfaced on social media of Ruzicka hittin the slopes with his buddies.
Now, in most situations, this would be tragic. A young athlete with tons of potential ahead of him in the National Hockey League, throwing it away for a couple sniffs of snow. But what I see here is a man playing chess, not checkers.
You don’t want to trade me? Fine.
You won’t release me at my request? Fine.
That left Adam with no choice but to force the Coyotes’ hand by telling his friends to post a video of him enjoying some homemade booger sugar so they HAVE to release him.
Does that face in the snapshot above look like a man that wants to play in front of 300 people every night, half of which are senior citizens who just thought it was just Bingo Night at the YMCA that the Coyotes play at?
Now, all Adam has to do is go through a players assistance program or some rehab and he’ll be back playing at a real NHL arena in a couple of years.
