The Capitals took on the Habs for Game 5 with the chance to clinch. Well boys we did it we survived and advanced. Thank god this series is over because I am beyond tired of those Montreal fans complaining constantly on social media. Nothing against the actual players but holy crap that fanbase is filled with a bunch of soy boy beta males. se faire baiser (please @ me)
Back on home ice the boys in red got on the board first with a beautiful faceoff win to Ovi who rocketed the shot past the Hab’s goalie for the 1-0 lead.
Shortly after the fellas got on the board again. PLD worked behind the net and gathered the puck and eventually found a crashing cue the music Bandz a make her dance Cyhchrun for the sneaky tap in to make it 2-0 in favor of the good guys!
Glad to see one of the Commanders (Redskins) Frankie Luvu enjoying the playoff atmosphere getting the fans riled up.
Then in the second on the powerplay off a couple shots that causes the Hab’s goalie to lose his stick Carlson got a shot on that caused a rebound chance that found Tom Wilson’s stick and he knocked home the goal for the 3-0 lead.
On the goal Dylan Strome tallied his 7th assist and keeps his point streak alive.
Then we head to the 3rd where Montreal got their lone goal of the game off a weird bounce that the goal was credited to Emil Heineman (name translates to 1 million man butts). Caps lead 3-1.
The Habs pulled their goalie late in the third and had multiple solid chances but was denied by some great Capital’s defense as well as some solid saves from LT. Caps win 4-1 with Brandon Duhaime getting the empty netter Caps win 4-1 and the series beat it nerds!
The Capitals were the better team in ever facet of the game in this series and it showed aside from the one loss.
We finally got to see the arrival of the giant Aliaksei Protas this playoffs after he got cut by a skate blade to his foot. He stayed on the 4th line to ease him into action, he played ok but no harm no foul occurred overall decent game from him as expected.
The Capitals already know their next opponent and that is the Carolina Hurricanes which should be a wild one, but I think we matchup well against them to be honest. Hopefully the boys get some solid rest and the league doesn’t start this series before the other games still in round 1 are still going.
