Blues Blow Dangerous Two-Goal Lead

This one hurts…

“I don’t think I’ll ever recover from this one” texts you receive at 3:23am from your fellow diehard Blues fan. I feel like Biz put a curse on Jobu and the Blues.

All the shit we talked about Hellebuyck choking in the games that matter. It was the Blues who choked this time. Blowing the classic two-goal lead. Buchnevich bombing a puck down at the empty net when he had time and space to carry. Thomas with opportunities to shoot the puck but decides to make the extra pass. There’s so many excuses but the bottom line is they lost in the first round. When you don’t play a complete sixty minute game and blow a two goal lead you deserve to lose. The Blues killed a brutal Brayden Schenn delay of game penalty and I thought just maybe this would give them momentum to finish the game in the first overtime.

The future is bright but we always talk about the next season. I felt like the Blues were the better team and had a chance to knock out the President’s Trophy winner but they failed. The Jets proved everybody wrong and made sure the home team won every game of the series. Even Hellebuyck started to play like ‘regular season Connor Hellebuyck’ once the Jets got the game to overtime.

At least the WTF line was locked in the whole series. Honestly, thats what kept the Blues from losing in five or six games. When you have your fourth line playing like they are the rest of the guys have to step up.

Time to start dancing at the Pink Pony Club because I’m all in on the Oilers for the cup. What a year in hockey seeing Ovi break Gretzky’s goal record. Now its McDavid’s turn to make magic and finally raise the cup. I think it would be quite the ending to an already unforgettable NHL season.
