Well look at what we have here. A Superstar player does not want to sign in the middle of the season and now their respected team is on the clock. There hasn’t been any reports that Panarin would be over the moon about resigning and now Columbus is in a tricky situation. It was just last summer when the Islanders thought Taveras would show them loyalty only to get cucked by the Toronto Maple Leafs. As fans it is easy to throw around words like traitor and asshole but in reality at the end of the day the NHL is a business. So what should Columbus do?
The Blue Jackets aren’t at all favorites to win the cup and its time to cut losses. You can’t lose a player like Panarin for nothing especially when teams will pay prospects and picks up the wazoo for the Breadman to be on their roster. I understand if you’re a Blue Jackets fan and don’t like that logic but you can’t always get what you want. You either keep Panarin on your roster and get TKOd by the second round or go out there and try to get some picks and prospects to help get upper echelon talent as soon as possible. What do you guys think? Keep him or ship him?
