Samuel Girard – 5’10”, 162 lbs. 22 years old
Blake Comeau – 6’0”, 195 lbs. 34 years old
Spare me with the ‘don’t take stupid penalty takes’. Colorado is cruising, up 6-2 at the end of the second when Blake Comeau of all people teabags Samuel Girard on national TV and not one player on the Avalanche did anything about it. I understand this is a make or break game but I can’t believe nothing came from this. Samuel Girard is a key player on your backend who could legally have an adult beverage as soon as a year ago. Do we think Adam Foote or Claude Lemieux would’ve let this happen? Yeah, I know I sound like the old guy yelling at the clouds and I am super aware of how the game is changing I just found this so unbelievably baffling. I’m officially off the Avalanche bandwagon and firmly with the Stars.
