News broke early Monday morning that Dallas Stars goalie, Anton Khudobin, would not be in Dallas for the beginning of training camp due to immigration issues. The standout between the pipes became seemingly an overnight sensation inside the Stanley Cup bubble thanks to his animated personality and “We’re Not Going Home” chant after the Stars eliminated the Vegas Golden Knights to become the Western Conference Champions.
While there are no updates at this time, it’s safe to say that Dobby is pivotal to the Stars success in upcoming season as Ben Bishop will likely be unavailable until April due to off-season surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee.
As stated in the tweet, Joe Pavelski will also be unavailable to begin training camp with the team. His status as of now is listed as day-to-day. Stars fans will be sure to monitor this situation closely.
Not exactly the news you wanted to see on day one of the new season, but on the bright side. There is NHL hockey happening around North America as we speak.
Make sure to stay tuned to The Morning Skate as the World Juniors wrap up and the NHL season gets underway. Pitter patter!
Update: As of 2:00 PM CST Khudobin shows to be on Instagram live in Dallas. Not sure if this is exactly where he is at but it seems like he is at least stateside.
