So there are rumors going around that there was an altercation in the room with Tony and a âbiggerâ player. Something had to have happened because you donât just cut a player who was tied for 4th in scoring as a defenseman just last year. He can move the puck, he isnât afraid to be physical and can find lanes that most defenseman on the Rangers can’t. Now, having said all of this, something had to have happened in the room and that is entirely on DeAngelo. How many time does a player need to be sat, talked to, for them to figure it out? Maybe Tony shouldnât have been on Twitter? Maybe Tony shouldâve focused on his game and less on poking the bear of social media justice warriors? Boy, that sounds pretty familiar, doesnât it?Â
We definitely need to find out more details but as of right this second, I don’t know if I’ve ever been more wrong about a player and their potential contributions to a team. Tony could’ve shined in NY but for one reason or another, he won’t get that opportunity.
