Seven Hockey Accounts You Should be Following on Social Media

You’re probably already following your favorite team on every social media platform, but if they’re anyone except the Carolina Hurricanes or Nashville Predators, chances are your feed is pretty dry.

Here are seven accounts on TikTok, Twitter, and Instagram who are absolutely killing it at the social game:

1. Bismarck Bobcats TikTok – @bismarckbobcats

This NAHL squad is on top of all the latest TikTok trends and sounds with their behind the scenes content and plethora of unique player personalities. With nearly 120,000 followers and 3.6 million likes on the viral video platform, the Bobcats are bringing a new audience to “the League of Opportunity.”

What sets them apart from most team sponsored accounts is they allow players to have creative control over content and just have fun with it rather than adhere to the boring standards of “professionalism” and post on a pretty consistent basis.

Starting new trends on our road trips, it’s what we do 😸 #fyp #foryou #hockey #ItGoesOnChallenge

Oh, and remember that kid who wiped-out as he was announced at the Minnesota state tournament? They have him too.

If you remember, you remember… it’s the Jon Bell Redemption Tour #fyp #foryou #hockey @jonbellofficial 😤

2. Arizona State Sun Devils – @SunDevilHockey

Yes, ASU has a hockey team— and they won’t let you forget it.

They have some pretty sick graphics and behind the scenes videos, but also know when to keep things simple:

Also, don’t chirp them, because they’ll chirp you right back.

3. Toronto Six Twitter – @TheTorontoSix

If you’re not following the Six or the NWHL on Twitter— you should be. They are by far some of the most interactive and welcoming team accounts out there and even if you don’t know much about women’s hockey they’re eager to help you learn!

Just don’t give them any BS, because they won’t take it.

Also, they have a pet draft. The NHL could never.

4. Wisconsin Badgers Men’s Hockey – @BadgerMHockey

Shameless self promo here, but Wisconsin has one of the biggest social media followings among NCAA teams and an elite line up of graphic designers, photographers, and videographers.

The Badger hockey experience is truly like no other and you’re not gonna want to miss game day content now that we’re back in the Kohl Center.

5. USA Hockey Instagram – @USAHockey

There’s no better way to stay up to date on the past, present, and future of the state of hockey in American than following the governing body on Instagram. They do an excellent job of serving as a hub for coverage of the national team and various IIHF tournaments, as well as attributing milestones of American players and teams at every level of the game.

They really post a variety of content from weekly college hockey rankings to coaching advice and practice drills from the American Development Model.

USA Hockey (at least online) is great at fostering an inclusive and encouraging environment for anyone who wants to get involved with hockey. And if you aren’t here for it, they aren’t there for you.

Huge shoutout to USA Hockey admin. You’re doing amazing sweetie.

6. Maine Black Bears TikTok – @BlackBearHockey

The University of Maine definitely won the race to TikTok among college teams, most of which aren’t even on the platform yet, and since then they have grown to over over 60k followers and 1.1 million likes.

Their short videos of games and practice are expertly produced and they take advantage of their massive platform to introduce fans to players and more behind the scenes content.

Before TikTok, most of this content was only seen on Instagram stories, so its nice to see a team take advantage of TikTok’s popularity and give the fans what they want.

7. Lone Star Brahmas TikTok – @brahmashockey

Another NAHL team that has better socials than some of the pros, the Lone Star Brahmas first went viral for their hockey nickname videos but still post consistently through their recent playoff push.

@brahmashockey

thx for the inspo @thehockeyguys and @bismarckbobcats 😎 who had the best one? #nahl #hockey #fyp #dfw #hockeytiktok #hockeyplayer #juniorhockey #dal

Whoever runs their socials is going above and beyond with this one:

And of course, who can forget the mullets?
