It’s been a while since I’ve done a game recap but I’m feeling froggy:
- These are the types of games you get jacked up for. The Rangers are starting to find ways to beat certified playoff teams, and although it might not be pretty, they are getting it done. They don’t ask how, they ask how many — and that’s 18 come from behind wins.
- Thank god Chytil returned, what an electric first game back. Did you guys even know he was playing?
- Schneider is so cool and calm for such a young kid. I know Miller gets ton of praise, which is well deserved, but this kid is going to be a rock for years to come.
- When’s the last time the Rangers had 6 defenseman where you weren’t shitting your pants, shift after shift?
- I swear I’m the reverse jinx king. As I was thinking that Strome needs to start being a hockey player again, he gets a pass from Panarin and goes right to the paint to bury. Also, I love the passion Panarin shows.
- Gauthier has all of the tools but his NHL22 player has a negative 13 playmaking and vision doesn’t even show up as an attribute.
- I miss Sammy Blais.
- Igor didn’t have an Igor night, but the boys rallied and the Prince dialed it in during the third period. I don’t care what you say, he’s my MVP and it’s not even close.
- Kreider was flying and Laf keeps using the icing pass to a streaking 20. Sometimes you end up icing the puck, but most of the time it creates confusion between a goalie and his defenseman that he knows has no shot of beating Kreider to the puck. It’s such a special option for a young player.
- Trouba is playing Trouba hockey. He’s not Scott Stevens but there hasn’t been a defenseman to patrol their own blue line like this since I can’t even remember.
- Lafreniere Update:
- Isn’t it amazing to have a team with a capable Power Play?
- Launch McKegg to another galaxy. He broke the record for most turnovers in a game (9,000) last night. Kudos to a well deserving waste of roster spot.

UPDATE:
Rooney has been put on the IR and Kaapo remains sidelined for the next couple of weeks. The Rangers have recalled Gettinger.
