Be a Pro: Blues Prediction Edition

It’s been a while since I’ve played some chel. Now that hockey season is back it’s time to pick up the sticks again. Before the season starts in be a pro mode you get assigned goals from the gm. I’m no Doug Armstrong but I’ve got four predictions for the Blues so get those bingo cards out:

  1. The Blues will win the home opener against the Blue Jackets.
  2. Winning the season series against the Wild.
  3. Jordan Kyrou sets new career high with 100 points in the season.
  4. Clinching a playoff spot.

The Blues open the season at home against the Blue Jackets and then head out on the road for the next couple weeks. The Blue Jackets will be a completely different team this year after signing Johnny Hockey.

It is important for the Blues to win this game at home to start the season off on a high note. Gaining the extra momentum before that first road trip of the season is crucial.

This is a bold take and I couldn’t agree more. The Wild still have a bad taste in their mouth after taking a first round exit in the playoffs against the Blues last season. Don’t be surprised if this is the best/closest series between any central division opponent. It’s going to be a battle and might lead to another first round playoff matchup.

My boldest prediction but I really think this will happen. He did it back in 2018 with the Sarnia Sting in the OHL. Yes, I know the OHL is not the NHL but Jordan Kyrou is bigger, faster, and stronger than he was in 2018. Somebody has to step up and with the exit of David Perron this leaves an open spot on the top unit. Between Kyrou and Thomas I have a feeling the Blues will have one of the best power plays in the league.

If the Blues can complete my first three predictions there is no doubt they will clinch a playoff spot. You gotta learn to walk before you can run. The NHL season is a marathon not a sprint but I do believe the Blues can make another run at the cup. Doesn’t matter what seed because anything can happen in the playoffs. Because its the cup!
