You would think that after Babcock was exiled for a couple of years he would be back behind the desk with a new perspective – a new policy of maybe not pissing off his locker room before training camp even started.. but here we are.
Before I get into what this means from a Columbus Blue Jackets organizational standpoint, what the fuck is Babdick thinking?

Mikey boy, you’re literally under a microscope right now. 99% of hockey fans around the world think that you didn’t deserve another shot. 99% of hockey fans think that you’re an old dinosaur who shouldn’t be in the realm of sculpting men going into battle. What in the world was going through your head here? Was combing through private pictures of your players a part of the job title? Is this what gets you going? What were you looking to find? Did the player who had the most nudes get a bonus or an A on their jersey? Whoever has the most duck faced selfies get their ass glued to the bench on a power play (guilty)? Most girlfriends don’t even ask to go through their significant others phones and you think you have the pull to make this happen??
There’s a saying in the hockey world – what happens in the locker room stays in the locker room. Whether you take a 2023 stance towards this or not, normally hockey players will handle things internally to keep media and the opinions of hockey fans out of it. The clip above shows me that there’s little to no respect for Babcock behind the bench. This clips says that a player told Biz, Biz asked if he could share, and then the player said yes knowing that this would envitably be a top story in the hockey world – one that the NHL, NHLPA and the opinion of #HockeyTwitter would have a chance to go at.
Guys, camp hasn’t even started yet. What do you do if you’re the GM. This entire situation shows the hockey world that the Blue Jackets do not give two fucks about their coach and honestly, should they? Would you?
Also – what do you think is in Babcocks phone?
