Kucherov is a #$@%

Ok, if you’re a Nikita Kucherov fan you might as well exit out of this blog right now. It’s long been a fact (especially if you’re a fan of The Morning Skate podcast), that I think Kucherov is a piece of shit. I think he plays like a guy you’d want to run in warmups. I think he’s dirty, I think he’s a rat, I think he’s a front-runner, a crybaby and basically a perfect player for one of the biggest crybaby organizations in the NHL.

And in a great display of playing to the final whistle, here’s this beauty quitting on the play in the STANLEY CUP FINALS when an icing was waved off and he bitched his way to the bench and didn’t even attempt to play the puck. Again, this was the deciding game in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Do you know what you can’t find? Do you know what doesn’t exist on these inter-webs? A video of Kucherov hard on the backcheck. A video of Kucherov selling out on defense. Oh, but Brownie, he’s paid to score goals. Yep, that is true, but what makes the truly greatest hockey players is their willingness to be team players and to get their asses back on D.

All of this brings me to this year’s All-Star Game. This fool made a mockery out of the NHL All-Star Game and embarrassed himself and his organization (not that anyone will hold him accountable as they all enable his behavior). Here’s the clip; and stick taps to Mark Messier and John Buccigross for trying to shine this turd of a player and his “performance”.

This weekend is not for the players. It’s not for most fans. This weekend is for kids. Somewhere out there, some kid looks up to Kucherov (I mean that’s bad parenting in my opinion but to each his own: it is a team based in Flori-duh after all) and that little boy or girl watched this arrogant douche go out there and perform like this? This is why future generations of hockey players will float around on defense and think they’re bigger than the game itself.
