So, all of those, “which JT will play for the Isles” issues seem to have been placed in bed, tucked in. The collective Islanders fan base, while still having not checked under the bed, nor in the closet, got a good night’s sleep. For the first time in a while.
Regardless of that, we Isles fans will be replaying these clinics that Tavares ran on opposing team defensemen and goalies during the past two games. Check out the highlights of that game.

The fact that the Isles and the Preds had the same damn record last year, makes this a sweeter win than normal. Given that the Metro is a freaking Murder’s Row anymore means that the Isle may have succeeded in their rebuild., but they don’t win enough to get out of it. It’s a bit like a holiday lights situation, the neighbors keep putting up more lights, so you put up more lights etc., and the Isles don’t have the budget to keep up with the Jones’s. So come on Isles and use what lights you have to make the Jones’s look like stooges for spending so much money. Unless of course that means ditching your biggest light at the end of the season.
Am I the only one that is befuddled by the NHL scoring leader moving into UFA this summer? Come on, sign the Captain already!
Speaking of budgets. It seems that the money was well spent on Jordan Eberle. After a “demotion” to the second line he potted his first two goals. When the Isles picked him up he seemed like a second liner to me, and I was not alone in that. Ryan Pulock was also included on what has thus far been a shit show of a power play. This is great! In the first 8 games he had figured into 3 goals in 4 games played on the power play. Hopefully we see more of this youngster throughout the season.
In related news. Doug Weight has given players long enough to get their shit together and is benching those that are underperforming. Poor suckers!
