Hey everybody, we all know that the Leafs struggled defensively AGAIN last night. Because it seems to happen on a regular basis lately, I won’t be going through the game blow by blow, although we can agree they blew last night.
What I’ll do instead is walk through a lot of fan reaction, or what I like to call Twitter Meltdown. But after all the tweets I saw, I’ll call this a meltdown ‘light’.
Even before the game I didn’t have a good feeling about it.

Next let’s look at Babcock. This is one of the nicer tweets I found.
I always enjoy some input from Jeff O’Neill.
To stay with the narrative of meltdowns, most tweets about Andersen were positive but I found this one that was interesting.
Let’s inject some humour in here. We can always count on Baggy for that.
Another funny tweet from Oak.
We’re starting to see a lot of double standards with Babcock lately. It’s supposed to be the best players play but we know now that’s not always the case. Some players also need an attitude adjustment that otherwise have not yet.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I wish every line had a Zach Hyman on it. Don’t give me your shit about offensive production, this guy brings what this fucken team needs, more hustle and gumption.
And finally , I think many of us can relate to this tweet after the game.

Some Quick Stats:
- Borgman (2), Bozak (3 and 4) and Brown (6) scored for the Leafs
- Andersen saved 26 of 32 shots for a 81.25 save percentage
- Out of all the goals scored against, Carrick was a +4
- JVR, Hainsey and Marleau were all -3
- Martin had 3 assists, which is great for Martin not for the Leafs if he’s you most productive player
- Kadri won 3 of 13 face offs
- Zaitsev lead all D with 22:45 and Mathews lead all forwards with 18:42 TOI
Anyone that knows anything about my posts or about me on Twitter, knows that me saying Babcock could be washed up is complete sarcasm. However, he does get paid a lot of money to figure these things out. I’m sure a trade (technically Lou’s job) or benching some vets will really get some players’ attention.
I think it’s time that he really shakes things up because what he’s doing now isn’t working. The system they’re playing is obviously broken. Either the players aren’t executing it properly or the other teams have it completely figured it out, or both. We all know what you call someone that keeps doing the same thing over and over and expects different results.
If it was me, I wouldn’t change the D pairings, the team just needs better players there. I would however change the lines up to look like this.
11-34-28
12-29-16
25-43-24
15-42-47
AND I would move one of 47, 42 or 25 in that order.
Also, I can’t believe nobody in the media asked Babcock about the non-challenge. What a bunch of cowards. Even though they still have winning record, they’re trending in the wrong direction. I don’t know about you, but I’m starting to feel a little discouraged at this point. I can’t believe I’m worried about this next game against Vegas. FAAAAAAAAAAAKK!!
If this peice makes me look like a crazy Leafs fan, then my work is done.
Have a good one.

Leafs are a small team every player is ofencifly gifted you have 3 grindersi on the hole team. So when the other team clogs the neutral zone forcing dump and chase . Leafs are to small to win battle along the boards. Answer have the d pinch all the time, have goalie practise 2 on 1 and break aways. These guys natural instinct is ofense let them do what comes natural.
