Damn, today sucks. Today the New York Rangers family lost a great one. I was lucky enough to have seen John Amirante perform in the playoffs and this man did not disappoint. This is him in ’94 when the Rangers won the cup. Look at the way he plays the crowd. What class, what swagger, what an icon.
Other teams have amazing National Anthem singers as well like the Bruins Rene Rancourt or the Penguins Jeff Jimerson but for me, John Amirante always was the best. If you closed your eyes and listened to him sing, you would think it had taken place long before 2018. John Amirante was a classic and I’m going to miss him waving that towel. Let’s go Rangers.
