I’ve had a ton on my plate over the past few weeks, so it has been tough getting out timely blogs about what’s happening around the league. In a perfect world this would be all I do….with that being said I’ve have had the time to throw some bets around. Here’s my breakdown.
NHL Record: 20-16-1 (4-2 +1.72 units on the week)
There was some unit adjustments from the beginning of the season, so I won’t mislead you with a total unit play. I will keep track of a total from here on out though.
Enough of this shit. Time to give tonights picks.
Florida Panthers at New York Islanders: Panthers ML+100*
This game is more about betting against the Islanders than anything else. The Panthers are on back to back road games (5-2 loss against the Rangers last night). They are in the Metropolitan area for another few days as they play the Devils on Saturday. The Islanders are coming home for 1 game after a 1-3 road trip out west. After tonight they head back on the road for another 3 games. Love the Panthers here at even money. A team that is still working out the kinks as they had potential to be a playoff team coming into the season.
Toronto Maple Leafs at Winnipeg Jets: Over 6.5 -110*
Toronto is finally heading on the road after a 1-2 home stand where they only put up 5 goals total. That is not Leaf hockey. Huge game against the Jets tonight and I expect the stars to show up. Water always finds it’s level and the Leafs will find the back of the net tonight, but I’m not confident in them winning the game outright. The Jets have 3 straight home wins, scoring 14 goals in that span. They won’t have trouble tonight against Toronto. My guess is probably 6-4 game, flip a coin for the winner. Both in odd spots coming into tonight, which is why I’m not betting a winner.
Tampa Bay Lightning at Colorado Avalanche: Tampa ML -120*
This ML will probably change. Tampa Bay at like -130 is more like it. But I’m very confident about the best overall team in the NHL. They are in the middle of a 5 game road trip where they are 0-1-1. The only thing that scares me, is that they are heading to Vegas tonight after the game and that may make this a look ahead game. But the Avs are traveling home after an impressive 3-0-1 road trip out east. So far the Avalanche haven’t won a game after traveling (home to away or away to home). I just think Tampa is too experienced and have a lot to prove this season with everyone riding the Maple Leaf wagon.
Note the stars next to the lines. Lines are constantly changing throughout the day and can make or break bets for me. I will be tweeting out official plays on twitter almost every night even if there isn’t a blog. The handle is @BettingCrashers
Give the account a follow if you like sports betting in general too. This is a hockey site, so hockey bets only will be discussed here. Good luck.
