This week has been pretty rough for myself. Yesterday I found out a guy I skate with on Mondays, a great man and fantastic father, had passed away right after leaving the ice that we have skated on so many times before. Adam Lanoir was a funny FUNNY guy who played the game the right way and seemed to make an impact and impression on every person he had come in contact with, just ask every single player, coach, or parent in the Glens Falls area.
Adam was a youth hockey coach for the Adirondack Youth Hockey 10U and 12U travel teams. He leaves behind his wife Ann and two sons who love the game of hockey. A gofundme was set up to help raise money for his family and to help provide hockey gear and costs they will need to have to help carry on Adam’s love of the game. I know if you’re reading this blog you’re either a follower of The Morning Skate or adore the game of hockey. Any little bit will help out. If I know one thing, it’s that the hockey community is one giant family. When something happens to a family member, everyone takes action, without question, to do what they can to help each other out. That’s what makes hockey so special. Whether its $1, $5, $100 it doesn’t matter, lets help out Adams family.
RIP buddy, we will miss you and you’ll never ever be forgotten.
