So I tried to uncover what happened but still don’t know. Allegedly the 10 year old kid slashed the ref, the ref got handsy, and the coach / parent / grown ass man ran on the ice to settle the score. Let’s break this down.
10 year old: This kid is an asshole and shouldn’t be playing sports. I can’t imagine what my parents would’ve done if I ever slashed a ref, over a bad call or whatever it might be. I’m sure everyone will say he’s the victim but if you’re 10 years old out here slashing refs then I’m going to say you’re a little piece of garbage. Get this kid out of here before he hits a growth spurt and starts Marty McSolerling everybody.
Ref: Buddy, buddy, buddy. You can’t under any circumstance get physical with a kid. I understand why you did, the kid was being a little shit, but you can’t do that. You probably saw red, immediately regret it, but you won’t be reffing anymore.
Dad/Coach/Grown ass man: I don’t know who this guy is and that plays a role in deciding what I think. If he’s a parent, I get it. Yeah, your kid is a little heathen but if anyone touches my kid I’m going full Kobayashi on their ass, that’s just the rules. If you’re the coach, I don’t know if you try and fight the guy but you make it known thats its not acceptable, whether it be by pulling a fire alarm, throwing things on the ice, I don’t care. It’s not good and needs to be addressed. If you’re some random hero out here fighting for a kid who isn’t yours then you need to stay in your lane. We didn’t really get to see what happened, but now this guy is for sure dealing with legal ramifications. Not a great look for an opening weekend of hockey.
What do you guys think?
