Lee Stempniak Retires From The NHL

If you follow the pod, you know that Lee Stempniak meant a ton to us. Our love first started happening back when Lee signed with the New York Rangers. I’ll remember it like it was yesterday. It was sunny, 75 and beautiful outside in Saratoga. We needed a reason to day drink because we didn’t want to be seen as animals, as degenrates. But what could we do? It wasn’t a holiday, to be honest I think it was a Wednesday or Tuesday. Thats when it happened. The New York Rangers came to terms with Lee god damn Stempniak. We went to Walmart, bought White T’s and a permanent marker. We created Stempniak white T jerseys, headed over to the park where we day drank and played wiffle ball/ dizzy bat for no less that 7 hours. What a day it was.

The guy played 13 seasons for 98% (jk but 10 teams) of NHL teams. He was an Ivy leaguer (means he likes textbooks) and could play up and down pretty much any lineup. Him and Thomas Vanek share the record of being mentioned around Free Agent Frenzy and the NHL trade deadline.

Fair well sweet prince, congratulations on retirement*

*I don’t believe it for a second. Talk to me about this once the playoffs start.
