Gotta wonder if Bettman’s threats of “severe punishment” to teams who didn’t report misconduct prompted the Stars to shove Montgomery out the door. Details should be interesting

I’m told the NHL was aware of the situation with Jim Montgomery even before Gary Bettman met the media here last night to announce the league’s 4-point plan, but that Montgomery’s dismissal does not fall under the auspices of that plan. Not related to it apparently.

Interesting take from Pete Blackburn but pretty spot on. Yesterday Gary Bettman said there would be severe punishment to organizations who let inappropriate things happen behind the scenes. The Stars are 6-3-1 in their last 10 and 17-11-3 on the year. Will we ever find out what really happened? I bet we find out at one point or another but regardless, what a way to start your Tuesday.
