Big Ups to Lindy Ruff For Keeping it a 4-0 Game

It appears that New Jerseys head coach and General Manager are on different pages. It was just over a week ago when GM Tom Fitzgerald told the media that he wished the tri-state rival New York Islanders would win the cup.

We talked about this on last weeks podcast but what in the fuck is going on in New Jersey? I can’t imagine Jeff Gorton, John Davidson, or anyone in the New York Rangers organization wishing that the Islanders or Devils would win a cup under ANY circumstance. That’s like wishing your ex girlfriend a life of love and happiness. Get the fuck outta here with that nonsense. Just a very, very weird take by a guy who should be focused on putting together a team capable of scoring one goal against a New York Rangers team.

Now, we can fast forward to last night. With less than 10 minutes to go in the third, the homie Vitali Kravtsov streaked down the left side of the ice before putting the puck in the back of the net. Sam could see again. Joe finally stopped talking about how much of a leader Trouba is. The equipment manager pulled out the handy dandy sharpie ready to mark that bad boy. Fans on Twitter united for the first time in the history of the app. All was well in the world… even if it was just for 10 seconds. Thats when Lindy fucking Ruff decided to challenge the play for offside.

The play ended up being illegal and the goal was taken back. The Devils were able to build of off this moral victory and only lost the game by 4 goals. Bounce back city population Devils. Encouragement!

Can you imagine how crazy their locker room was after the game? They probably formed a dance circle surrounding good ol’ Lindy. Pop, lock and drop it. How many workout videos did PK post after the game? I haven’t had a chance to check his Instagram. Probably a thousand. Ty Smith went in doubled down on the just for men to really make that mustache pop.

Jack Hughes probably ate so much Chipotle and passed out to old High School Musical. Zac Efron, who.

Is this the play that turns the Devils season around? Are the boys in the room pumped that their coach plays for keeps while their GM plays for awkwardly long group hugs? All I know is that management, players, and coaches need to get on the same page before the Devils become a team known not just for being the only team better than the Sabres.
