Nedeljkovic Stands On His Head. Wings Beat Blues 4-2.

Alex Nedeljkovic continues to play out of mind between the pipes, leads Detroit to a much needed win against St. Louis on Wednesday night.

Alex Nedeljkovic Appreciation Post

Wow!

Ned makes his second start in a row and continues to shine. It seems like you get “Holy Jumpin'” as Mickey Redmond would say, highlight, ESPN Top 10-type saves every single outing from him. You could definitely argue for two against the Blues. The one posted above and denying O’Reilly on a breakaway (posted below). Horizontal movement, quick glove, what a beauty.

You have to believe he is in the Calder conversation. His last start, he had a shutout going until about 6 minutes in the 3rd against Arizona.. unfortunately, it was with a 1-0 lead, and the Wings couldn’t close. And here against St. Louis, making 35/37 saves, some timely and some terrific. The goals against continue to go down, the save percentage ticks up. Making a strong case to be the number 1, in a 2-goalie system.

Wow, again.

Lucas Raymond.. again.

Lucas Raymond. This is a stat that is repeated over and over, shifting the numbers slightly to the right but he is the first teenager since Steve Yzerman to get 20 points in his first 21 games or less as a Red Wing. He got the Wings going tonight, his goal tied the game at 1 and off they went. Dylan Larkin with a brilliant breakout pass from the Wings’ zone, Bertuzzi found Raymond streaking and Raymond found the back of the net.
The NHL is starting to catch on. This kid is here to stay.

Love to see it.

The Wings take on Buffalo on Saturday. Let’s Go!
