Chris Drury Says Smell Ya Later to Little Nils

I feel like if you’re reading this blog your opinion goes one way or the other.

One way, the wrong way, is to feel bad for poor little Nils. Nils deserves everything Nils wants and deserves. Nils should get all the ice time because Nils wants it. It’s the Rangers fault because Nils wanted something and the Rangers could have given it to him and chose not to. I can’t believe the audacity of an NHL hockey team for not giving one of their young players exactly what they want. Who do they think they are?! It’s like that super awkward toddler that runs around the store kicking and screaming and demanding something and instead of realizing this kid is throwing a temper tantrum, you put on your pom poms and tell the kids parent that it’s all their fault. What a world we live in now.

The other way is that Nils is a soy boy beta cuck who decided to throw a 2022 hissy fit, didn’t get his way, and then left town. Nils has come out and said he has no ill will towards the Rangers and that they are a first class organization. FUCK. THAT. I don’t know when this happened, but in todays world it is no longer a privilege to play in the NHL. It is no longer a great honor to be selected by a team and to work your ass off for that organization. It’s no longer cool to put on your hard hat, grab your lunch pale, and go to work. It is not frowned upon to throw a hissy fit, to demand a trade, just because you didn’t get your way. I have no idea when it became really cool to be a world class baby but suddenly it is.

The truth of the matter is actually quite simple.

Nils refused to compete for an open job and got traded for a first round pick.

Many people are going to say it’s because Adam Fox is there and Nils felt like he wouldn’t get playing time. Okay bud, get better?

Have we heard of injuries? Has Sammy Girard put his thumb in his mouth and started crying once Cale Makar came to town? This kid had an opportunity to not only make a team that almost went to the Cup final, but to even get some PP2 time – I can’t be the only one that almost throws up every time Trouba has the puck and is the last one back, right? He would’ve logged some minutes and he would’ve made the Rangers a better team. What a shame.

By the way, quick shoutout to Chris Drury – in a shitty situation where a toddler seemed to hold all the cards, he was able to get rid of the kid for a first round pick to a team that probably will struggle to make the playoffs. Drury has done some good work since becoming the GM – don’t let the babies who cry about Buchnevich tell you any different.

Lastly, and I doubt this happens, but man it’d be funny if Nils didn’t make the opening line up for the stars. I know it’s very petty, I might be crazy but I am self aware. Listen, loyalty is everything for me. I root for the Rangers and any player that wants to make the Rangers better. It’s actually quite an easy concept to understand. So hate me all you want if I’m not going to wish Nils best of luck moving forward, especially when he didn’t even want to be a part of the party.
