While you were sleeping, Ovi broke another record!

‘Twas the night before Wednesday, and all through the rink, Ovechkin was stirring, his Dr. Pepper on the bench. While fans were nestled all snug in their beds, Ovi was breaking records again! This time it was Gretzky for most away goals all-time. The goals were scored easily by Ovi’s shot which beat the goalie without a chime!

While most of you were asleep the Capitals ventured their way up to the great white north for a game against the Vancouver Canucks. Who they got the best of with a final of 5-1.

As mentioned above Ovechkin broke another record which he scored twice before you could blink it felt like (2 goals in 12 minutes to be exact). The first one came off a turnover behind the net where Ovi slapped it quickly to beat the Canucks goalie.

This was Ovi’s 12th goal of the season, where he scored on Spencer Martin making it the 165th unique goalie (victim) Alex has scored on which is now third-most all-time now.

Ovechkin got on the board again with a nice 3 on 3 play by the Caps with a great back hand pass from Mantha to Strome who fed Ovi for an easy one-timer to score to give the Caps and early 2-0 lead.

This quick 2nd goal by Ovechkin passes Wayne Gretzky for the most road goals ever and now just sits 7 goals away from 800 for his NHL career. Dude just doesn’t slow down the man is an absolute animal!

The Caps scored again on a great defensive play behind the net from Eller to steal the puck then get it to MJ90 who fed a wide open Mantha in front of the net for a beautiful gritty fore check goal.

This was Mantha’s 1st goal in 7 games. Eller also tallied his 200th career assist and 200th career point as a Capital on the play.

Then we got a greasy goal from John Carlson battling for the puck in front of the net but was setup nicely from Dowd to give the Caps a 4-1 lead. This gave Carlson 5 goals in his last 9 games. (He must have heard me say how ice cold he had been playing)

Martin Fehervary netted the last Capital goal on an empty netter to make the final 5-1 Caps.

Darcy Kumeper also played great even if the opponent wasn’t making it hard for him we need him to dominate in games like this, which he did stopping 31 of 32 shots. Darcy has won his last 3 starts with a .966 save percentage. So lets hope he keeps this momentum going and has a solid month of December!

The Caps are also 10-1-1 when scoring 3 or more goals just saying.

God, I would like to personally thank you for blessing us with this human who scores goals like its a walk in the park.

The Caps will stay out west for their next game Thursday against the Seattle Kraken who just beat the Kings in a wild 9-8 win over LA. Jesus was that a D3 game that took place?!

Also, if you haven’t had a chance to listen yet I interviewed former Cap Karl Alzner!
