After last nights Bruins game, we now have our sights set on round 2. Looking back to round 1, I went 6-2 so let’s see if I can make it a perfect 4-0 this round.
Jets vs Predators
Regardless of any outcome, I’d have to believe that this will be the best series in the NHL Playoffs. These teams are so explosive offensively and tough defensively that I literally have no idea what is going to happen. In net, Predators fans have been preaching that Pekka Rinne deserves the Vezina while the Jets goalie just set the record for wins by an American goalie. Both rinks will be lit as a clit as Nashville will have their catfish honky tonk and my people up in Winnipeg will be going white out.
Prediction: Jets in 6.
As some of you may know, I recently pledged loyalty with Winnipeg. I love guys like Scheifele, Wheeler and Ehlers. Dusty Buff is a god damn psychopath and the last American goalie I truly supported was Mike Richter, ever heard of him? If you want to support the white out, click here.
Sharks vs Knights
The Vegas Golden Knights will be facing the San Jose Sharks in quite the showdown. In the first round I had the Kings in 7 and boy oh boy was I wrong. The Knights play such a simple, fundamental game and come at you in waves for 60 god damn minutes. The Sharks on the other hand, I nailed that one. San Jose is a heavy offensive team and have stars like Burns and Vlasic on the back end. Will Evander Kane continue to produce? Will Wild Bill Karlsson come through in the clutch? Who will have a better series, Fluery or Jones?
Prediction: Knights in 6
Yeah, that’s right I said it. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. ALL YEAR, I claimed the Knights wouldn’t make the playoffs and that they lacked true highly elite talent. The Golden Knights then took my words and shoved it so far up my ass that now I’m picking them to make the Western Conference finals.
Penguins vs. Capitals
Do I really need to say anything here?
Prediction: Penguins in 5
Tampa Bay vs. Boston
This is the Eastern Conference’s Nashville vs. Winnipeg. The Bruins had a third period rally to take down the Toronto Maple Leafs while the Bolts tea bagged the Devils almost a month ago to take their series in 5. Both of these teams have highly skilled forwards putting the puck in the back of the net along with depth throughout their forwards. I like Tampa Bays defense with either Hedman or McDonagh on the ice for 2/3 of the game. In my opinion, this series will come down to goaltending.
Prediction: Lightning in 6
Papa wrote a blog saying the Lightning won’t make it out of round 2 and I disagree. The Lightning pretty much took all of the Rangers good players and put them with even better ones. If you took the Rangers team in the past that made Cup runs and added Stamkos, Kunitz, Hedman and Kucherov then I’m pretty sure there would’ve been a parade down broadway by now. Also, the Rangers own the Bruins first round pick so if they lose the Rangers receive a higher selection. Double also, if the Lightning win the cup then the Rangers get a another first round pick next year. Go Bolts!
