Washington vs. Tampa Bay
This is going to be a hard hitting series. Both teams are made up of guys name Brooks Orpik, Tom Wilson, Alex Kilhorn, Ryan Callahan and Chris Kunitz. I don’t think we’ve seen an overly physical type series until now. Other than physicality, what other superstars are going to show up? Ovechkin has been LIGHTING up the playoffs while the Lightnings top line has produced, but may not up to expectations?
What a beautiful moment for the Capitals. For what seems to be 1,000 years, the Capitals finally have made it out of the second round. Alex Ovechkin is carrying his team right now with help from Evgeny Kuznetsov, which is a must have considering Backstrom being injured.
John Carlson is putting up a point per game to go along with a terrific regular season and Brayden Holtby is playing some of the best hockey he has played in the playoffs.
To me, it seems like this could be another series in which Tom Wilson has about a half a dozen borderline hits. If he stays on the right side of the line, Wilson will have his fingerprints all over this series. If he doesn’t, he will too, but for all the wrong reasons with the Bolts PP being one of the best in the show.
I’m aware Stamkos had the tying goal in game 4 and Miller had the GW in game 5, but it seems like Tampas depth has really carried them until this point. Guys like Brayden Point and Ondrej Palat are the types of players you need to win in the playoffs.
The Bolts clearly have the more superior blue line with guys like Hedman, McDonagh and Stralman, and have plenty of late playoff experience, something that capitals cannot say. Oh, also, Andrei Vasilevskiy has been a STUD.
This Bolts team is the real deal.
Prediction: Lighting in 6.
Winnipeg vs. Vegas
What a time to be alive. An expansion team will be playing the Atlanta Thrashers for a chance of going to the Stanley Cup Final. Neither team has ever made a final, only making this series even more special. This is going to be a fast, skilled and heavy series in which you’ll see guys like Byfuglien and Carrier going at it.
My boys pulled it off. Last night, the Jets took it to the Preds in Nashville and Pekka Rinne shit the bed, jsut like i said he would. Winnipegs forwards are FLYING and putting the puck in the back of the net.
Mark Scheifele is the most underrated player in the game, Blake Wheeler is wheeling and Paul fucking Stastny is back in everyones life. I wouldn’t have thought in a million years that Stastnys name would be a popular one surrounding a playoffs series but here we are.
Dustin Byfuglien is leading the defense while wet willying people on national television.
And Connor Hellebuyck has been nothing short of brilliant.
I love this god damn team.
This team comes and waves and it never stops. No matter the score, no matter the situation, the Knights play the most well-strcutured hockey in the entire NHL. They have completely bought in to Gerard Gallants coaching philosophy and have flourished all year. Just look at this depth.
SO dangerous. Their defense is led by my guy Deryk Engelland, and filled with top 4 Defensman like Nate Schmidt and Shea Theodore. So far it looks pretty good, right? Well, I haven’t even mentioned the most dangerous player in this series.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a goalie THIS locked in. Check out these numbers.
That’s insane. No matter what happens, Fleury has been my MVP of the playoffs. Yeah, the Knights have been good, but their goalie has been historic.
Prediction: Jets in 4. I have to do it, they’re my team now (of three weeks). #WhiteoutKed
