The Injury Bug Hit The NHL Last Night: Fowler, Vasilevsky And Chara All Injured

I do a lot of refreshing the Twitter timeline every night to see what is poppin’ off in the NHL. Normally I’m looking for a sick goal, a nasty hit or fight or that super hot girl who inevitably sits behind the players bench. As I refreshed the timeline last night, players began to drop like flies.

Cam Fowler

This is incredibly unfortunate for the Ducks. We give Cam Fowler shit on the pod because he’s one of the precious USA development camp kids but Fowler has been growing on me year after year. It seems like yesterday when every NYR on HFboards had some sort of trade involving Fowler coming back this way. Fortunately, its early in the season and after the surgery Fowler should be on the road to recovery.

Andrei Vasilevsky

Okay, there are two ways to look at this one. The first way is that yeah, this sucks. Vasilevsky will be gone for weeks and the Lightning will have to toss Louis Domingue in the case which tbh sounds awful. On a positive note? Vasilevsky will be freshhh come playoff time and I need to the bolts to win it this year. I’d love to see McDonagh and Girardi lift a cup but I’d really love to see the Rangers get another first round pick. So Vas, get well but don’t get well too soon. Take it easy, refresh and recharge.

Zdeno Chara

Are the Bruins ever healthy on their backend? Seriously though. I know they have some of the best defenseman in the league in Chara, McAvoy and Krug, but are they EVER healthy? Chara clearly doesn’t have what he used to but he is a serviceable player in his own end and a leader on and off the ice. This potentially could be a huge blow to the Bs. Chara, Krug and McAvoy have already missed time this season and we’re not even through November. Ts and Ps for the Bruins as they hope not to be sending out an AHL caliber defense for the next few weeks.
