Okay guys, this is not the end of the world. Chytil has had a wildly inconsistent preseason and Kravy has never played in an NHL game. These two will go down to Hartford together where hopefully they will develop together. Key word, together. Both of these kids have a long future in the NHL so it’s nice that they won’t be in it alone. Another one of the more successful offseason accomplishments was redoing all of Hartford so hopefully they will be better suited this year than in years passed. Not only will be be focusing on the blueshirts but also the wolfpack. More focus equals more hockey equals more me being happy.
I’m going to miss Lindgren, but like Chytil and Kravy, I think it’ll be good for him to get some more games under his belt. It’s not going to hurt him. He’ll get more minutes defending against other teams better players. I still think Lindgren will be a player in this league for a long time, now we just wait and see how he develops.
Nieves was placed on waivers and I’d be shocked if he wasn’t picked up. He was a pretty serviceable 4th line center with some decent wheels. He’s played well for the Rangers in his stint here, it’ll be interesting to see what happens.
Nieves leaving does mean one cool thing though.
Kegger made the squad. Fuck, I’m happy about this. As good as Boo is, I’m happier having McKegg there. Why? I don’t know, but I just know, you know? When you know, you know.
A little surprising to be honest. I don’t think any of us thought Haley had a realistic chance of making the squad but he did and that’s our reality. Haley might not score, or do anything productive offensively but if he can play in games where he protects his teammates and plays solid defensively then I am all for it, at least for now. You never have to question effort with Haley and I’m sure the boys aren’t pissed to have a rough customer like him around. I’m being glass half full here.
Alexa, order me a Kakko jersey. I’m happy the kid got the number he wanted, I’m happy Lias and Libor both earned their number. Kinda thought Lias was going to stick with 50 but I wore 28 back in JUCO so I’m okay with it.
Now the fun starts! Cannot wait for Wednesday.
