When Will Islanders Fans Move on From John Tavares?

This is not a troll job of a blog but a legitimate question. I get it, your once beloved captain used and abused you but at what point do you move on? The Islanders currently have a 13 game point streak. 13 games!! That is over 15% of the season! Can you imagine is Tavares actually had a competent coach to play for during his tenure?

I guess the one thing about Islanders fans that I never understood is that you guys are either 100% there or zero percent. Attendance has been an issue for the Islanders but why? In terms of being super crazy super fans, you guys take the cake and for that I respect it. However, from an outside perspective, looking at a team who’s future is clearly bright, it’s pretty embarrassing seeing fans cry and moan about a player who never really did anything for them, quite honestly. It’s time to move on, it’s time to pretend that JT didn’t exist for you and in terms of wins and losses that is a true statement. It’s time to realize Barzal is your new JT, that you have one of the best coaches in hockey and that your current captain isn’t jumping ship any more. Islanders fans always say people don’t take them seriously, well act like it. Act like you have a great squad, act like you have elite players, stop booing an ex and start flaunting your new boo, boo. It’s better to have loved and lost than never loved at all, I think I got that right? Anyways, heads up for the Islanders because they’re a scary good hockey team.
