Where do I begin with Alex Ovechkin it’s like every damn day he’s doing something amazing that people just shake their heads or tip their CAP in total respect. Ovi is basically passing someone new on the All-Time Goal List pretty much every-game it seems like. Oh and Ovi has 14 goals in his last 7 games and 3 Hatties in his last 6 games. That stat is simply not human, maybe Ovi had a little of the Russian Gas over the All-Star break.
The Caps were down 2-1 to the LA Kings on Tuesday night in DC which is less than ideal against the struggling Kings. Then Ovi decided to pull a Greg Jennings and “put da team on my back doe” and take matters into his own hands and “go the hell off!” as the youths say. On his 1st shot of the night he scored goal 696
Then in typical Ovi fashion with the game tie 2-2 late in the 3rd, he decided to take the lead on some lazy defense by the Kings and net goal 697. MAMMA THERE GOES THAT MAN!
Then for just shit and gigs Ovi decided to get the natural Hatty for goal 698! That Hatty was his THIRD IN 6 GAMES! That goal got the GR8 to 40 goals on the season which is his 11th 40 goal season which is only one behind the Great One(Gretzky) which he should be tied with if not for the 12-13 NHL lockout shortened season.
Ovi is “simply en fuego” right now and it might be the hottest he’s ever been in my opinion guess those All-Star break was really helpful for the Russian stud!
He is only TWO away from 700, and he can very realistically finish top 6 All Time at the pace he is scoring this season. Personally I hope he only gets one goal before next Saturday when the Caps come to the desert to play the Yotes because that would a crazy milestone to see live in person!
Oh and the Caps got a much needed W after the shitshow that was the loss to the Pens on Sunday! Glad the boys bounced back and you know what that means Play MEDUZA! #RockTheRed #ALLCAPS
