The Hurricanes started off strong. The Flyers scored within a minute into the game. Unfortunately, they were charged a penalty due to losing a coach’s challenge. Thankfully, Aho scored to tie the game going into the second.
Aho opened the scoring in the second, just 23 seconds into the period to put the Canes up 2-1. Raanta has been very good in net. The Flyers then tied the game. Soon after, the Hurricanes scored three unanswered goals by Fast, Teravainen and Lorentz. There was a fight or two, resulting in Cole getting a two minute minor for roughing and MacEwen getting a double minor for roughing. At the end of the period, it was 5-3 the Hurricanes.
The third period was uneventful for both teams. The Flyers did almost score with Raanta out of the net but the Hurricanes got lucky with Raanta sticking his stick in the way. Overall, the Hurricanes held the score at 6-3. They are finally at home on Sunday afternoon against the Capitals.
