The Binnington List

After a 3-0 start to the season, the Blues fall to 3-6-0 losing the last six games. This is the longest losing steak with Chief behind the bench. The Blues had never lost four in row under Craig Berube…make that six straight and counting. They need more offense if Jordan Binnington is going to have a bounce back year. The frustration is starting to build for the goaltender and this is not a good way to turn things around.

Binner is clearly the number one goalie but maybe give Thomas Greiss some more time? He looked good in the first period against the Jets during his Blues debut. Greiss also stopped all the shots he faced against the Kings when he came in relief of Binnington.

After scoring the first goal in the opening period last night against the Islanders the Blues give up four goals in the second period. Would it have been a good move to put Greiss in for the start of the third period? Something I keep thinking about after the shoulder bump on Ilya Sorokin. I understand the frustration but Jordan Binnington has to keep his composure otherwise the opponent will take advantage. I mean it can’t get any worse, right?

The next game comes on Monday in Boston and the Blues could really use a win on the road. Jordan Kyrou needs to step up and fill the offensive role David Perron left behind. The Blues are really starting to feel the lack of offense and somebody needs to start scoring before Binnington loses his mind.
