With about two weeks away from the trade deadline let’s break down whose been traded and notable remaining targets. There has been exactly five moves made since we rolled into the new year.
January 18th the Detroit Red Wings acquire F Jasper Weatherby from San Jose Sharks in exchange for F Kyle Criscuolo. The Sharks are sellers as they dive into the trade invested waters making two trades in one week.
The next trade announcement was a big one followed by 8×8 extension.
This trade is by far the blockbuster of the year. It’s not surprising the Canucks traded away their captain who was on his way to becoming a free agent after this season. The most recent trade involves the Rangers which leaves Patrick Kane crying. Read more about the Rangers last week here. Many people hate on the All-Star Game but it gives players on the trading block another opportunity to showcase their talents. Chris Drury looked at that four point game and said, “I want number 91.”
Who is next? Brock Boeser, Jakob Chychrun, Timo Meier, Cam Talbot so many names swirling around so many pending unrestricted free agents. That makes this year so interesting among other trade deadlines in the past there are so many big names available.
