If you’re seeking some nostalgia on a busy night in the NHL, look no further than the Los Angeles Kings–Edmonton Oilers broadcast Saturday night.
The Kings will be hosting ’90s night at Staples Center, and FOX Sports West is bringing back the ‘Glow Puck’ as a part of the festivities, the team announced.
2019 is already coming in hot in which the NHL is throwing it back to the glow puck. I remember this phenomenon and I remember the scrutiny it came with, meaning people either loved it or hated it. For a throwback 90s game, I’m all for it. I think it’ll be cool to give us a little throwback and to show what it potentially could look like in the modern world, I found this more modern era youtube video.
Not too bad. I will say though, I’m much happier that it’s a King Oilers game and not a Rangers game. I like to lock in when the boys in blue play and I can see myself reacting a bit harsher if it had to do with my Rangers. To be honest, I’m looking forward to people freaking out like someone wacked their entire family. The fake outrage on this is going to be spectacular.
