For those of you who are not aware the New York Islanders are headed back to the middle of Long Island after a few seasons in Brooklyn. Earlier today, the Islanders won the bid over a professional soccer team known as New York City FC to have an arena build at Belmont Park and as much as I despise the entire team as well as their whole fan base, I am very excited for these buffon’s to be back where they belong.
*For the record: I am trying not to be mean/biased during this. I am genuinely happy for the organization, but I still hate them with a passion.
So not only do the Isles actually have a definite place to call home, but they FINALLY get to celebrate something other than being a completely average team (which is exactly what they are). I get that not everyone gets to play at The World’s Most Famous Arena and that sucks so I do feel for other teams, but the Isles are mean so it’s hard for me to at least act happy for them. Like I’ve been in plenty of arguments with them and they really think they know everything meanwhile WE ARE ALL WATCHING THE SAME DAMN SPORT AND HAVE BEEN FOR THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME. (Well false, Original 6 what’s good bitchezzzz?)
As a Ranger fan it is my one job to find the bad in everything the Islanders do and I stand by that. Ask anybody who knows me personally.. I AM BRUTAL. I will rip apart every player, their families, friends and fans until I feel satisfied and I don’t feel bad doing so because I know the feelings are mutual. They hate us… and I know they bad mouth my entire well-being too, and I’m okay with that. I just find it funny (and of course need to point out) that the Isles just had their best day since the 80’s and they still care more about the Rangers:
I may just be missing something, but last I checked the Rangers and Isles have the same amount of cups. The only difference between the cups is 11 years… and guess who won more recently…? Oh, by the way if you don’t know this answer (like the smarty pants who tweeted the above statement) GOOGLE IS FREE!
It’s fun to see people expressing their excitement:
As well as other people who are not censoring their true feelings about the bid winners:
^ Well said brother, well said.
Anyways, the most important part of this entire day and bid drama is that the Islanders can stop complaining, Long Island will once again have a real arena, we ALL get to tailgate more, and NOBODY will have to watch hockey at the Barclays. Doesn’t matter how much you hate the Islanders, that is a win for all hockey fans… so thanks Isles and welcome back!
