Feeling Blue in a City of Purple Angels

The Blues losing streak continues and now hits five games. I guess it could be worse. Even though Buffalo had the night off it still feels like they lost. Philly got smoked in New York by the Rangers 9-0 and Edmonton did some damage at the old Saddledome putting up a touchdown to extinguish the Flames.

The LA Kings are not a playoff team but if the Blues don’t figure things out the Kings will be a playoff team. Three points separate the two teams and they will play one more time since Monday’s game was postponed due to weather.

Head athletic trainer Ray Barile is honored for working his 2000 NHL game and he’s never missed a game. That is one impressive stat and one of the most important roles behind the bench. Thank you Ray, your hard work behind the scenes is much appreciated.

On the plus side some key players are returning from injury like Tyler Bozak who had two hits and 14:30 in ice time. Jaden Schwartz is expected to be back in the lineup this weekend and both Robert Thomas and Jacob de la Rose are skating/practicing. The best part of this game against the Kings was when Torey Krug and Andreas Athanasiou dropped the gloves.

Ever since Tarasenko made his season debut I started to have a good feeling which has faded away over the last five games. I really hope this is just a little slump. I thought the postponed game would be a good thing and give the boys some extra rest but maybe that’s not the case. The next game is Friday at the Shart Tank and the Sharks better be doing the sharting.
